Ezra & Jo

How long have you been together for?

E:

Married 2.5 years, been together for about 6 years.

J:

He's really nailed answering that question, I'm impressed!

Who made the first move?

E:

Depends who you ask, I would say she made the first move considering she got my number and text me, but from that moment on I pursued her all the way.

J:

I did not, the first move was made way before then..

Where did you meet/how did you end up together?

J:

We met briefly for the first time outside of church. Ez was talking to a friend of mine and eating some hot chips, I went to go speak to my friend while he was still there and he offered me some food…I consider that the first move! But from there we met officially through my sister, sat together in church, he took something of mine (obviously trying to get my attention) which is why I ended up getting his number from someone else and texting..I won't tell you what he took though...

E:

A pen, it was a pen!!

J:

Anyway...

What do you love most about each other?

E:

She’s got an ass that won’t quit…I don’t know if that’s my favourite thing but it’s definitely note worthy…my favourite thing is her heart and the way that she loves people, and helps me to love them also.

J:

Ever since I’ve known Ez he has always challenged me to be a better me. It’s never about comparing myself with other people, but trying to be a better person than I was yesterday. I love his passion for everything and anything and as annoying as it is I also love the fact he knows a little bit about everything..it’s outrageous! (And if he doesn’t know the answer to something, he WILL find out).

Pet hates/bad habits?

E:

She talks about doing everything and does nothing.

J:

HEY!

E:

I wish she was more of an action person but she’s getting there..

J:

He’s taught me to snooze in the mornings…especially in winter we are the worst - it’s so hard to get out of bed!

What is your happiest memory together?

E:

Too many happy memories! I loved the week before we got married with family & friends in Thailand. I love finding little cafe’s with her and just enjoying mornings with my wifey…the happiest moment that comes to mind is a morning when I was playing basketball with a group of friends. I’d previously said I’d really liked a pair of basket ball shoes, but didn’t really have the money to get them, plus they weren’t in the budget and I’m BIG on budget. That morning Jo shows up in front of 20 other guys and their wives and gives me the perfect pair of brand new kicks - everyone was jealous and I was very proud..that was a good memory.

J:

I love all our little adventures we go on…even if it’s just going to the markets or for a walk in the morning or night, we always have the best conversations when we are out walking and being active. But favourite memory would probably be when Ez proposed. I literally had no idea so it was the biggest shock. Looking back there were quite a few clues along the way - but I’m very easily side tracked which he used to his advantage. It wasn’t until we were on a rooftop covered in candles overlooking the city that I was like ‘shivers is he about to propose’ (in a good way). I kept laughing and saying “Are you joking, is this for real?” and when it finally hit that it was for real I proceeded to cry in shock/happiness and I still really have no idea what he said to me, but it’s definitely one of my favourite memories.

What is one of the hardest things about being married?

E:

The reality of it. Marriage isn’t what hollywood portrays it to be, and because of that, sometimes the difference between reality and our expectation can leave us slightly disappointed - but hey that’s just life. We would love to live in our dream home, travel, just have happy moments all the time…but the truth of the matter is marriage is all about the journey and not the destination..the best thing about our marriage is we are really focused on the journey and not the destination.

J:

I would agree with that as Ezra was my first boyfriend, and going through high school, watching all the rom coms, I had a very hollywood idea of what I thought romance and love was all about. The reality was a very different situation -  but now I see that in a good way. If life was always perfect and easy going we would never grow and become stronger people - plus how boring would that be!

What are you most looking forward to for the future?

E:

Children! And a house, backyard, shed & a dog

J:

Probably the same, minus the shed. Also more travel! I love travelling and there are so many places I still want to travel to...America, Europe & Africa just to name a few.

What is a question/some advice you would like to ask the next couple?

With life being so busy, what's a life hack you have to be able to spend quality time together?

Towards the end of our questions we were walking home from breakfast that morning, and Ez sees a home open he would love to go check out….

J:

I need to go the toilet

E:

I’d love to go check that place out, is that possible?

J:

Yep

E:

Why didn't you go to the toilet while we were there (at breakfast) they had heaps of keys for the toilets

J:

I just didn't think I needed to

E:

(proceeds with interview) That’s another part of married life, she doesn’t go to the toilet at appropriate times

J:
